Many European States have the road user fee (also called toll) long recognized as a revenue source that bubbles vigorously and consistently and money flushed into the empty coffers. Switzerland is apparently intends to broaden this lovely stream of money yet. Swiss media reported over the weekend that the Swiss government is thinking about increasing the fees for the local motorway vignette - and drastically. Currently the price for using the highways 40 francs (30 euros). Conceivable a hefty increase is ....,... to 200 francs (150 euros). That would be a price increase by five times. The Government even heated discussion on the extent of the increase in toll charges in Switzerland. Last week the government thought the Confederates still loud about an increase in toll fees to 100 Swiss francs (77 euros). Was the cry of horror among motorists about not large enough so that the policy of their ideas about the price of Swiss motorway vignette quickly modified? The toll charges or the vignette, all users of the Swiss motorways - be they locals or tourists - pay.
